What causes cellulite?

Do you have uneven, lumpy skin on your hips, thighs, or buttocks? This may be a sign of cellulite. Cellulite occurs when the skin overlying certain areas of fat is pulled downward to the deeper tissues by connective tissue bands. This creates an uneven surface. Cellulite is caused by a buildup of fat underneath the skin and the deterioration of collagen and elastin bands. Some women are more predisposed to it than others. The amount of cellulite you have and how noticeable it is can be based on your genes, body fat percentage, and age. The thickness of your skin also affects the appearance of cellulite. You can have it whether you’re heavy or thin however, Women are more likely to get it than men at least 80 to 90 percent of women are affected.

Other than that, there’s not much known about cellulite. It’s normal and there’s no clear cause. It doesn’t pose any health risks. Only cosmetic concerns and, often, embarrassment. Luckily, there are non-invasive treatments such as Lipomassage by LPG, Radiofrequency and lymphatic-drainage messages that can help reduce the appearance of cellulite by breaking down the fat cells so that you can get your youthful and tight looking figure back!

What is Ozone Therapy?

There are several different types of Ozone therapy ranging from intravenous applications to the use of ozonated water and oils.
At EWC Mediwellness we use the HOCATT TM OZONE Sauna
HOCATT TM stands for “Hyperthermic Ozone and Carbonic Acid Transdermal Therapy” and the machine acts as a personal ozone steam sauna, in which patients sit with just their head exposed to the air, while their body receives the benefits of an infusion of ozone, carbon dioxide, steam, photon light and oxygen. The gentle rise in body core temperature and oxygen levels in the blood accelerates blood circulation. Through the process of elimination, toxins are expelled via the skin, thereby sparing the kidneys and liver of the detoxification process.
Additionally, it’s a great treatment that can be used to boost the immune system, lower inflammation levels in the body, inactivate viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungi and parasites, as well as assisting in natural healing. The HOCATT TM sessions are usually 25 – 30 minutes. Most protocols recommend 2-3 sessions per week initially. A couple of sessions per month are recommended for the healthies clients to boost their vitality.
